Star Wars was first announced in January 2021 by Ubisoft Massive which is known for creating some of the most immersive and visually stunning video games in the industry. From the expansive open world of The Division to the detailed first-person shooter Far Cry 3, Ubisoft Massive has a proven track record of creating video games that are both beautiful and captivating.

Recently, Ubisoft Massive took to Twitter to reveal that it is seeking playtesters for its upcoming Star Wars game. Unfortunately, this position is not remote as the tweet specifically mentioned that they are looking for testers living in New Malmö, Sweden only, where the company is currently based. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the development process of a highly anticipated game and to give feedback that could shape the final product.

At this time, it is unclear when playtests for the upcoming Star Wars project will take place and what aspects of the game will be accessible to testers. If the available news data is to be believed, the development of the Star Wars title is far from finished. This is because Ubisoft announced just a few months ago that it is hiring developers to expand the development team for the project.

As mentioned above, not much is known about Ubisoft’s mysterious title, but it is reported that the game will make use of Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine. Snowdrop is the same tool used to create visually captivating games such as The Division 2, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, and South Park: The Fractured But Whole. The Snowdrop engine is exceptional at rendering highly detailed worlds and games like The Division are perfect examples of Snowdrop’s ability to create intricate micro-level details in environments while also encompassing a large scope of the open world.

For those who are not aware, there are several Star Wars games in development by different companies outside of Ubisoft. Respawn Entertainment, the team behind the popular Titanfall franchise is developing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, while Quantic Dream, known for their work on the critically-acclaimed Detroit: Become Human, is working on Star Wars: Eclipse.

Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars game is currently in development.
