New Jersey tallied a shorthanded goal after John Moore and Pavel Zacha were called for hooking and tripping penalties, respectively. Already holding a 3-2 advantage, the Devils added to their lead when Andy Greene dumped a pass along the boards that was picked up by Adam Henrique, who skated into the Maple Leafs’ zone and sent a shot on goal.

Henrique’s shot was stopped by Toronto goaltender Frederik Andersen, but Brian Gibbons corralled the rebound and fired a shot into the back of the net.

Gibbons’ marker was the first time in club history the Devils had scored while down two men in a regular season contest.

Miles Wood and Pavel Zacha led New Jersey with two goals each as the Devils held on for a 6-3 victory.
